What is Scouties
to the way people experience travel in Asia

Scouties is an interactive travel platform that turns cities into playable adventures. It helps people explore real places through story-driven routes, location-based challenges, and discovery experiences that make travel feel more meaningful and connected. Instead of only walking around, taking photos, and reading static information, users can actively engage with a place by following clues, solving tasks, and uncovering local stories along the way.
Why I founded Scouties
The idea for Scouties began during my exchange experience in Quebec, Canada. Before discovering an interactive exploration game there, I felt disconnected from the place in the way many tourists do: walking around, taking photos, shopping, and observing the city from the outside without truly understanding it.
By coincidence, I found a location-based game that turned the city into an experience. Instead of simply passing through Quebec, I began learning about its history by moving through it, following a narrative, and engaging with the environment in a much more active way. That experience changed how I thought about travel.
I realized that this kind of interaction could make exploration more meaningful, especially in places where culture and history are rich but often presented in ways that feel passive or distant. I wanted to bring that idea back to Asia and create a different way for people to experience place — one that combines movement, story, discovery, and learning.
That became the starting point for Scouties.
Key achievements

Accepted into NTHU Garage
(accept 6 out of 20+ teams in NTHU)

1st Place in RYLA Entrepreneurship Competition
(defeated 10 other teams in the competition)

Business Development
I secured this collaboration with the National Tsing Hua University Arts Center by proactively identifying their needs and proposing a fitting solution.
The result was the NTHU Public Art Guide App, a commissioned digital platform I developed to make campus public art more accessible through a self-guided experience featuring 18 installations.
The project not only improved how visitors explore public art, but also helped the university reduce reliance on staff-led tours during peak periods, creating a more efficient and sustainable tour system.
Business Development
Collaborated with National Tsing Hua University Houde Academy to create an exploration game in Guanxi, designed to help participants engage with local culture through interactive storytelling and on-site discovery. The event attracted 20+ participants and received strong positive feedback.
